More proof that traditional outsourcing works: MAN focuses on its core business and leaves ICT services to the experts.

People who are on the road a lot spot the MAN logo everywhere they look: on trucks, buses, diesel engines and printing systems. MAN, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles, engines and machinery, is considered to be one of Germany's most successful companies. MAN is one of the DAX 30 companies (Germany's most important companies listed on the stock exchange) with its more than 50,000 employees worldwide and revenues of around 14.9 billion euros (2008). T-Systems will now take over opera-tion of MAN's data centers in Germany and Austria and gradually transfer the infrastructure to its own data centers in Munich.

Tailor-made ICT services

By outsourcing its ICT services, the MAN Group will be able to take advan-tage of several benefits. The company's operating costs for its computer and software landscape are planned to be reduced significantly in the medium term. Overcapacities will become a thing of the past. T-Systems will offer MAN most of its services dynamically – computing power, bandwidth, stor-age. This means that service volume and therefore costs can be adjusted flexibly to the company's demands. State-of-the-art technology at the T-Systems data centers will guarantee that MAN will remain in the major league when it comes to ICT.
