Green light at Migros Bank

January 07, 2010

Happy faces at one of Switzerland's leading retail banks. Migros Bank switched to the new core banking solution Finnova and the project was completed without a hitch.
Migros Bank is one of the ten largest Swiss banks. With the help of T-Systems, the bank switched to the Finnova core banking platform on November 3rd. The software is considered to be one of the most innovative modular general banking solutions. The ICT service provider is now in charge of operating and managing this central information technology platform as well.
It was a smooth transition. Albert Steck, media spokesman for Migros Bank, explains, “T-Systems is operating the new banking platform with a tremendous amount of expertise and fast response times. The specialist teams work together very well.”
Experienced outsourcing partner
The project team prepared extensively for the transition during 40,000 hours of project work using more than 200 systems set up for this purpose. Everything has been running smoothly since the transition. “Of course, the immense experience we've gained operating the system for Graubündner Kantonalbank has given us a definite advantage in this project,” explains Hans Nagel, Director Systems Integration & Banking at T-Systems Switzerland.
The new solution's technology also provides a high level of system reliability for Migros Bank. A so-called real application cluster (RAC) guarantees a high degree of standardization and automation with multiple redundant computer nodes.
